Abstract: An orbital service vehicle (OSV) plays an important role in the automatic on\|orbit service (OOS) system. The rendezvous and docking between the OSV and a service target is an inevitable process during the OOS mission. In order to optimize the auto\|homing approaching strategy for rendezvous and docking, the double impulse maneuvering strategy based on Hill equation is analyzed, and the influence of different OSV initial parameters and different maneuvering periods on approaching process is discussed in this paper. According to a typical case, the variation rule of the trajectory, velocity and fuel consumption in different coordinates is induced, and the variation feature of fuel consumption with different OSV initial parameters is given in this paper.
