Abstract: A trajectory optimization approach for hypersonic glide vehicle with multi-constraints including waypoint, no-fly zone, heating rate, dynamic pressure, overload, controls, and terminal states is studied in this paper. The main problems about application of Gauss Pseudospectral Method (GPM) in trajectory optimization for hypersonic glide vehicle are discussed, and a multi-phase trajectory optimization strategy is proposed to solve the problems. According to the strategy, the general optimal control problem of trajectory optimization can be transformed into a multi-phase optimal control problem, and then the GPM is used to discretize each phase of trajectory, so the continuous multi-phase optimal control problem is transcribed into a nonlinear programming problem to be solved. Taking the maximum downrange trajectory optimization as an example, the simulations indicate that the multi-phase strategy is adaptable to trajectory optimization for the hypersonic glide vehicle with multi-constraints.
