DOA and Polarization Estimation Algorithm for Coherent Signals with Conical Conformal Array

 A polarization sensitive array is formed by crossed dipole elements on the surface of conical carrier and its snapshot data model is built in this paper. On this basis,
a joint multi-parameter estimation algorithm for two dimensional direction of arrival (2D DOA) and polarization is proposed. In this algorithm, de-coherence preprocessing is performed through spatial smoothing for the covariance matrixes of the sub-array data by employing the redundant spatial coherence structure potentially involved, then the 2D DOA and polarization parameter estimation for multiple coherent sources is performed according to ESPRIT algorithm. Monte Carlo simulation results show that the proposed algorithm is effective to solve the multiple parameter estimation problems with conformal array antenna.
