Abstract:

Target aspect sensitivity of high range resolution profiles (HRRP) includes three aspects: variation of scattering center model, migration through range cells (MTRC) and glint. All of them affect the recognizing process, such as data preprocessing, feature extraction, template generation and so on. To quantitatively analyze the impacts of the target aspect sensitivity and develop relevant methods, a measurement method named ’statistical model of HRRP target aspect sensitivity impacts’ based on the HRRP based recognition techniques is proposed in this paper. The proposed method is applied in analyzing the HRRP of a ballistic target in anechoic chamber. The analysis indicates that the effect of glint is close to MTRC. At last, the recognition experiment based on clustering templates and neighborhood templates is used to verify the measurement method. These research results bear certain significance for ballistic target recognition.
