Abstract:

The system configuration and its signal model of MIMO radar based on the ISAR technique is analyzed. Considering the distributed characteristics of echo signals in a wavenumber domain by use of two step reduces dimension, a new effective polar format algorithm is presented, and some guidelines for designing MIMO imaging radar arrays are obtained. The algorithm transforms the echo data from four dimension to two dimension through alternately reduced dimension and sorting. The two 1 D interpolations in range and azimuth are used to convert the echo data from polar coordinate to cartesian coordinate. Analysis of the error introduced by the plane wave assumption provides limits on the imaged scene size. Finally, the simulations are performed to verify the algorithm.
