Numerical Simulation of Establishment/Vanishment Process of Lateral Jet Interaction Flowfield

In order to simulate the hypersonic unsteady orbit-control jet interaction effects, both unsteady numerical simulation method and multi-grid technique are developed. The establishment/vanishment process of the lateral jet interaction flowfield for a cone-cylinder-flare configuration is investigated. Detailed transient jet interaction flowfield structures are obtained. Variable characteristics of normal force amplification factor, interaction moment coefficient and normal force coefficient and pitch moment coefficient with time are analyzed. The results show that the normal force and pitching moment are changing seriously in the establishment/vanishment process of the lateral jet interaction flowfield, the steady solutions and the unsteady time-averaged solutions of normal force amplification factor and interaction moment coefficients are evidently different.
