An Improved Shape Based Method for Spacecraft Maneuvering Trajectory Design

In order to design the spacecraft 3-D maneuvering trajectory with thrust constraints, an improved shape-based design method is proposed by using Fourier series (F-S) in this paper. Firstly, based on equations of spacecraft motion built in the cylindrical coordinate, the F-S shaping method is applied in the 3-D maneuvering trajectory design. Then, according to initial parameters provided by the F-S shaping method, the trajectory is optimized by using the direct collocation method. The simulation results demonstrate that the F-S shaping method can provide a good initial guess for the optimization solution in 3-D spacecraft maneuvering trajectory deign with mission constraints.
