Abstract:

The research status and development roadmap of the rocket based combined cycle (RBCC) engines both at home and abroad are summarized, and the main research plans and important achievements of each country are expounded. The research progress and achievements of the RBCC engine in Northwestern Polytechnical University are systematically summarized. After nearly two decades of development, the research including the theoretical analysis and principle verification, component design and testing, and small-scaled ground engine integration and verification is completed. A number of key technologies such as wide operating range full-path design, flame stability and high-efficiency combustion during wide incoming flow condition, as well as mode transition, are preliminarily mastered, and the basis for conducting flight demonstration verification is already in place.
