Research Progress of Planetary Landing Trajectory Optimization Techniques

Abstract: Focusing on the high landing safety and accuracy requirements in future planetary landing and sample return missions, the landing dynamic environment and constraints of planetary atmospheric entry and powered descent landing are analyzed. Then, research progress of the planetary landing trajectory optimizations is reviewed. Based on the characteristics of planetary landing trajectory optimization, the key techniques are summarized on the transformation of nonlinear dynamics, optimal trajectory rapid solving under complex constraints, and reachability/controllability analysis under uncertainty.
