Abstract: To solve the searching problem of Chang’e 5 return capsule caused by the large theoretical landing area in the third phase of China Lunar Exploration Program, a high fidelity dynamic model of the capsule parachute system is established and verified with the airdrop test. The model is used to analyze the deviation characteristics of the reentry trajectory after parachute opening. Results show that the model can be used to accurately calculate the flight trajectory deviation range of the return capsule, which can help reduce the search scope and shorten the search time.
