Abstract: With the development of space remote sensing payloads, a high\|speed data bus is strongly required for the huge amount data. For high reliability requirement of space environment, a novel fiber\|optic bus architecture based on the command/response protocol, which combines FC\|AE\|1553 and passive optical network technologies is put forward. A ground verification system has been set up by using a redundant topology with double rings in inverse directions. The experiments show that the new bus system can reach a data rate up to 2.5Gbps, and can be easily isolated from fault nodes. The new bus system owns the merits of simplicity, fault\|tolerance, and high reliability and can meet requirements for space missions.
