Abstract: For the problem of detecting range-spread target with spare scatterers in non-Gaussian clutter modeled as spherically invariant random vector (SIRV), it is assumed that the location information of scatterers is known and a generalized likelihood ratio test detector based on scatterers location (SL-GLRT) is proposed. Then the threshold method is used to estimate the location information of scatterers, and a two thresholds constant false alarm ratio detector (TD-CFAR) is proposed. The analytical expression relating false alarm probability to detection threshold is deduced, and a method for determining the threshold is given. The results show that the SL-GLRT has the best detection performance when the information of scatterers is known, and the DT-CFAR is more robust when it is unknown.
