Abstract:

Considering that the coupling error between the scale factor error and the Earth rotation cannot be automatically compensated in the dual axis rotation inertial navigation system, an improved indexing method is proposed in this paper. Without adding rotating shaft, this method restrains the coupling error by compensating the Earth rotation in the plane of the rotating shaft, mathematical analysis indicates that this method is suitable for laser gyroscopes and fiber optic gyroscope. Computer simulation results illustrate the efficiency of this improved indexing method. The research provides certain theoretical support for engineering design and modification of dual axis rotation inertial navigation system.
